Open Menu to resume or leave a race. Online races keep running while menus are open. Leaving gives up your place; a lost connection can reconnect you to the same race.

Damage & pit stops

Damage reduces speed and grip. Rear-ending another car heavily penalizes the trailing driver. At zero integrity, a three-second tow returns you to the start-line pits for six seconds of repairs. Completed laps count; progress on your current lap is lost. Enable Hardcore for race-ending damage.

Tap PIT or press E to turn pit service ON. Your car automatically enters at the next pit entry on the start straight. Tap again to cancel. Service repairs the body and engine and refills N₂O in four seconds. Release GAS or tap BRAKE after service, then accelerate and steer left to rejoin. You can pit while still racing on the last lap; crossing the finish line ends your race and cancels any request. Online races close 30 seconds after the first finisher, even during service.

Nitrous cuts out at 85% heat. Holding the button cannot override the cutoff. Release to cool, or release and press again while hot to risk engine damage. A damaged engine loses power; a blown engine needs a tow to the pits.

Race tips

Knockout removes the trailing driver every 30 seconds until one remains. There is no lap limit; pit service and recovery use up valuable time. The countdown turns red when you are in danger. Select Knockout before creating a private room to race friends under the same rules.

Open Garage for medal targets and unlockable liveries. Time-trial pace, undamaged laps in a completed race with rivals, and clean close passes earn medal points. Win a knockout race to unlock Midnight Gold.

Brake before tight corners, ease the wheel into the turn, then accelerate as you straighten up. Big steering inputs at high speed make the tyres slide and scrub speed. If you hear squealing or see TYRE SLIP, ease off the gas or brake gently to regain grip. Small corrections keep your speed. Holding the brake overrides the accelerator.

Draft behind a rival to gain speed. Close, clean passes still earn progress toward garage rewards. Nitrous works on the road while accelerating; the finite bottle lasts about 16 seconds and refills only in the pits.

For a perfect start, press the accelerator just before the lights go out, or tap N₂O when using auto-accelerate. In time trial, race three solo laps against your best saved lap. A green split means you’re ahead.
